Terms & Conditions at Royal Copenhagen Inc. Online Store (US and Canada)

These terms and conditions apply to all purchases of products made from Royal Copenhagen Inc.’s Online Shop at usshop.royalcopenhagen.com (US and Canada only).

1. Receipt of Order and Conclusion of Agreement

1.1. Order Procedure
Immediately before final confirmation of the order, the customer will see the total amount of the order and shipping fee on the homepage. Before final confirmation of the order the customer will get the opportunity to correct any typing errors or mistakes. Shortly after confirmation of the order the customer will receive an e-mail at the e-mail address stated by the customer as receipt of the order. The e-mail contains order information confirmed by the customer including the order number, name and address, method of payment, delivery address, summary of ordered products, shipping fee and sales tax.

The customer is urged to examine the order information and notify Royal Copenhagen Inc. if any information in the customer’s opinion does not correspond with the placed order. The customer is encouraged to save and if possible print the order confirmation.

The final agreement between the customer and Royal Copenhagen Inc. is considered concluded when Royal Copenhagen Inc. has confirmed the placed order. However, the reservations in clause 8.2 still apply, the confirmation at point of order is confirmation of receipt only, and at this stage the order will still be subject to availability. Royal Copenhagen Inc, will, as soon as possible, notify the customer in case of any reservations, e.g. that a product is sold out.

The customer is accountable and holds the risk for the correctness of the entered in-formation about the customer. Royal Copenhagen Inc. does not validate nor check this information.

1.2. Invoice
When the order is shipped Royal Copenhagen Inc. will send an invoice by e-mail and a printed invoice is forwarded together with the package/shipment.

2. Prices and Payment

2.1. Prices, Currency and Sales Tax
The prices for any goods will be as quoted on our Site on the day of the order placement. Prices are subject to change. These prices do not include sales tax, where applicable. Shipping & Handling costs are not included. All prices, taxes and expenses are paid in US dollar (USD) stated on the Shop, the order confirmation and invoice.

If an item is subject to sales tax in the state to which the order is shipped tax is generally calculated on the total selling price of each individual item. In accordance with state tax laws, the total selling price of an item will generally include item-level shipping and handling charges.

The sales tax rate applied to your order will generally be the combined state and local rate for the address where your order was shipped. Therefore, the sales tax rate applied to your order may be different for an order shipped to your home address than it is for an order for the very same items shipped to your work address. Royal Copenhagen Inc. obtains sales tax rates from a leading tax rate service provider. Sales tax will apply on orders with shipping addresses within following states:

  • California
  • Connecticut
  • Maine
  • Massachusetts
  • New York
  • Texas
  • Pennsylvania

Note that many factors can change between the time you place an order and the time of credit card charge authorization, which could affect the calculation of sales taxes. The amount appearing on your order as Estimated Tax may differ from the sales taxes ultimately charged.

2.2. Cost of delivery (Shipping cost)
To any order placed on the Shop, cost of delivery is added to cover the shipping fee. The shipping fee will appear from the homepage before final confirmation as well as on the order confirmation and invoice, which is sent to the customer.

2.3. Payment with Credit Cards
Payment can only be done with the acknowledged Credit Cards listed on the Shop at checkout. The total amount including shipping costs etc. is withdrawn from the customer’s bank account upon shipment. The amount withdrawn will appear from the customer’s bank account.

Royal Copenhagen Inc. payment solution is provided by Authorize.Net, A CyberSource Solution (www.CyberSource.com), the leading payment service provider in North America, and it’s based on the SSL standard, which means that the information submitted in connection with the payment transaction is protected by encryption. Card and account information is transferred encrypted for cashing and validating purposes and Royal Copenhagen Inc. does not register nor store this information.

2.4. Late Payment
The amount is due for payment upon shipment of the product, and shipment is conditioned that the payment card covers the purchase amount. In case of late payment, (e.g. because the invoiced amount cannot be withdrawn from the customer’s bank account or if the customer unrightfully stops the transaction or demands the transaction returned) a reminder charge equivalent of USD 20 is payable for each reminder. Royal Copenhagen Inc. sends a maximum of three reminders before the debt is placed for collection.
